On 9/21/77 the aerial mechanism
of Five Ponts Ladder 17 collapsed
during a training exercise.
Mike and a fellow firefighter were injured.
Twenty-three years later on 12/29/03
Ladder 17 honored Mike
in the memorial arch pictured above.
